Our Servant maid

Has gone on a long leave

(almost a month or so):

she had to go to her native place

to get the roof of her old dilapidated house repaired

that had collapsed

when an assembly of monkeys got to play around.

Her absence from work

was far too long to manage

by postponing

what just had to be done.

So my daughter cleans and sweeps the front yard

also puts Rangoli with colored pieces of chalk,

changing the patterns daily:

she learns a new design or pattern every day.

If this is not,

what else could be,

a blessing in disguise?
