Pen Container is a harem
I have ceramic mug full of pens and pencils on my work desk. It has more than twenty writing instruments of various sorts – ball pens, Ink pens, pencils – black, coloured, use and throw pens etc. It is further cluttered with pen caps, rubber bands, few paper clips etc. Except a couple of ordinary pens that I use regularly, right next to laptop in the ‘rough’ note book, all others are a real waste. The pen stand looks like a harem – unused and underused!
Harem and pen stand are similar. Take a Look at the reasons:
There is a lot of variation & variety in the collection
· Of different shapes, sizes and colours
· In their usefulness when they were acquired first and now
· Their weight – light thin attractive pleasant / unpleasant to handle
· Frequency of use – some never touched again, some held tight many times
· Some seem right suiting to one’s moods
· Some are clogged, dry, dirty and unattractive
· Some have life to last a long affair
· Some fulfil emotional needs and have a story to tell or recollect - gift, theft etc
Nizam of Hyderabad is known
to have had more than 100 wives in his harem. But I see you can own a harem of
pens and pencils - simply by collecting but not using them much.
