TFESCO: Senior Citizens and Pensioners Diary 2016
Today I attended a function meant for releasing Senor Citizens and Pensioners Diary 2016 published by Telangana Federation of Senior citizens Organisations (TFESCO). Mr M Kodandaram TJAC chairman released the book from Mr Kanakaratnam. He gave elaborate statistics to show how senior citizens form almost 60% of real voters. Kodandaram asked us to be cautious before criticizing the govt as they have to act, ultimately. Sri Uppula Gopala Rao, Ms Kamakshi and Dr Vyasamoorthy unanimously emphasized that unless all the warring factions come together as one single united group, government will not listen to the pleas of senior citizens. Mr Linga Reddy explained how they are successful in Malkajgiri area to get the support / sympathy of ministers.
A brief description of the book is given below:
The diary is an almanac and a compendium. Details of important members who form the backbone of TFESCO are given with photos. Host of information like: Govt Holidays, Profile of the State, MWPSCA extracts, Aasara of GHMC, Income tax rates, first aid basics, Several State govt GOs relating to pensioners, Phone numbers of utilities, services, banks, ambulances, hospitals, crematoriums etc, Dept of Senior citizens – contacts, Airlines, press media newspapers, etc are provided. Lot of useful articles for seniors is included. Several forms for keeping personal info: investments, birthdays etc are given. Nearly half of it is in Telugu. Advertisement support is aplenty.
The Diary part as such devotes half a page for every day in 2016. There is an impressive, worth reading quote for every day. This in itself is worth the price (Rs 120) of the book.
