Through the eyes of a child: Learn about Google

This is a true story from my sister, Shyamala, Bangalore - posted in sss-global, a forum for the elderly.
=============

Around mid day, I was sitting on a bench in our complex, basking in the sun. The bench nearby was occupied by a girl of about 4/5 years & her nanny. The nanny was trying to feed the child.( typical Indian custom of feeding outdoors, enticing with stories,scenes.). She was playing the good cop/ bad cop act, saying " you are the best girl" one minute & the next " I will complain to your mom" etc.All with no avail. The child was running, jumping ,giggling ..anything  but eating.

In an effort to help the nanny, I butted in. I told the child that she  & I would play a game.of questions & answers. Each of us can ask  3 three questions in turn & the other would answer. The condition being she takes a mouthful of food between every Q & A.

I asked her name ,class ,school etc.She asked me my name, my mother's name,my grand mother' s name.By the time I could finish answering these, she got into the spirit & fun of the game and asked me " your grandma's mother's name, her mother' s name, xxxx " She wanted to know the names of all my  female ancestors, going back some  six generations. She was giggling hard , reeling the questions. I however did not know my great grand mother's name itself. I was trying to unearth any bit of clue in my memory regarding her name. The child seeing me deep in thought realised she had lost me . To bring me back to the game, she told me in a soothing voice" It is o.k. Nani. Let us play some other game for now.  It's o.k., If you don' t know.YOU GO HOME AND GOOGLE. YOU' LL GET THEIR NAMES" .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FEMINIST CELEB: We need ‘Euthanasia Vans’ to drive around and get rid of all the old people

FEMINIST CELEB: We need 'Euthanasia Vans' to drive around and get rid of all the old people

Katie Hopkins suggests that we create "euthanasia vans" that drives door-to-door and kills off the elderly.

"We just have far too many old people," the feminist says. "It's ridiculous to be living in a country where we can put dogs to sleep but not people."

According to Hopkins, this can be carried out stylistically, you know, with a flair.

"Euthanasia vans — just like ice-cream vans — that would come to your home," Hopkins says "It would all be perfectly charming. They might even have a nice little tune they'd play. I mean this genuinely. I'm super-keen on euthanasia vans. We need to accept that just because medical advances mean we can live longer, it's not necessarily the right thing to do."

HOPKINS: PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA ARE 'BLOCKING BEDS,' AND THERE'S NO POINT TO THEIR LIVES
Hopkins' off-color comments weren't made completely out of the blue. Great Britain has been wrestling with whether or not to allow assisted suicide for some time now, an idea that's repeatedly been shot down by the Parliament. But Hopkins is tired of all this concern for human life and wants to see all those gray-hairs six feet under as quickly as possible.
This wouldn't be the first time that Hopkins has shown such disdain for the more vulnerable members of society. A recent "tweet" she posted to Twitter openly mocked dementia patients and their propensity towards forgetting things, writing:
"Babe I'm here again, I'm here again, where have you been. Babe I'm back again. I'm back again Where have you been? Take That Dementia style."
And just like how she views the elderly, Hopkins is of the persuasion that dementia patients are pointlessly taking up space in hospitals and care facilities, and should be put to sleep. The Mirror Online reported on a related Hopkins tweet that stated, "dementia sufferers should not be blocking beds." It proceeded to question the point of their lives.
It's inevitable that Hopkins will someday become one of the many senior citizens in British society that she so despises. And based on the continued regression of health throughout the West, she's also got a pretty good chance of developing dementia at some point in the future.
Both of these factors make Hopkins' distasteful comments rather harrowing for her own survival — who, but the most gracious among us, would repay such a vile woman with kindness in her old age? Considering Hopkins isn't married and loves to run her mouth off at every chance possible about the merits of euthanasia, it's difficult to see how she'll even make it into her sunset years.

TFESCO DIARY 2016

TFESCO: Senior Citizens and Pensioners Diary 2016

Today I attended a function meant for releasing Senor Citizens and Pensioners Diary 2016 published by Telangana Federation of Senior citizens Organisations (TFESCO). Mr M Kodandaram TJAC chairman released the book from Mr Kanakaratnam. He gave elaborate statistics to show how senior citizens form almost 60% of real voters. Kodandaram asked us to be cautious before criticizing the govt as they have to act, ultimately. Sri Uppula Gopala Rao, Ms Kamakshi and Dr Vyasamoorthy unanimously emphasized that unless all the warring factions come together as one single united group, government will not listen to the pleas of senior citizens. Mr Linga Reddy explained how they are successful in Malkajgiri area to get the support / sympathy of ministers.

A brief description of the book is given below:

The diary is an almanac and a compendium. Details of important members who form the backbone of TFESCO are given with photos. Host of information like: Govt Holidays, Profile of the State, MWPSCA extracts, Aasara of GHMC,   Income tax rates, first aid basics, Several State govt GOs relating to pensioners, Phone numbers of utilities, services, banks, ambulances, hospitals, crematoriums etc, Dept of Senior citizens – contacts, Airlines, press media newspapers, etc are provided. Lot of useful articles for seniors is included. Several forms for keeping personal info: investments, birthdays etc are given. Nearly half of it is in Telugu. Advertisement support is aplenty.

The Diary part as such devotes half a page for every day in 2016. There is an impressive, worth reading quote for every day. This in itself is worth the price (Rs 120) of the book.
