Art exhibition by senior citizens
Showcasing creativity:Elderly residents of Vanaprastha and a few other communities organised an exhibition of art and craft items they created as part of the decennial celebrations of the senior citizens' homes.
COIMBATORE: Elderly women residents of Vanaprastha and a few other senior citizens' homes showcased their creativity at an exhibition organised here recently.
The women displayed paintings, pencil drawings, stuffed toys, cushion covers, flower vase and other items they made over the years.
Celebrations
The event was the decennial celebrations of Vanaprastha, Dhyanaprastha, Pyramid and Sankara Seva Sadan homes, near Vadavalli.
More than 15 women participated in the exhibition, said T.K. Ganapathy, a resident.
It was not a competition, though.
The women also displayed handbags they stitched, photographs they clicked, Tanjore glass paintings they made.
The exhibition was part kolam, indoor and outdoor events that were organised to mark the celebrations.
